Parkville Care Centre

Parkville Care Centre is a modern, purpose-built care home located in central Middlesbrough, with easy access to the town centre including shopping and leisure facilities. The home is registered for 92 beds and has recently undergone a series of extensive refurbishments including the complete redesign, refitting and re-registration of its sister building. This space provides nursing care to people living with dementia or a related condition and we have undertaken a complete upgrade of floorings, fixtures and fittings at the residential building. The main residential provision also includes a Tovertafel magic table.

The two main buildings are separated into two units each and provide residential care, residential care for people living with a dementia and since 2018, nursing care for people living with a dementia or a related condition. Each unit has its own garden and there are two beautiful secure, dementia friendly gardens attached to the home.

Each unit provides a number of separate areas which are open for residents to enjoy as they wish.

In addition to the refurbishment of the sister the building. The upper floor of the main building has recently benefited from a total top to bottom refresh.

Our meals and mealtimes

We have two dedicated catering teams providing homemade, flavoursome meals and snacks throughout the day. Our head chef ensure consistency across both services. We work very closely with allied professionals to ensure the meals we provide are nutritious, balanced and tailored to meet residents’ dietary requirements and we use the Caroline Walker menus specifically designed for those living with a dementia at the Auguste Community. Wherever possible we use local suppliers and fresh produce. We provide snack points and food and drink is available 24 hrs a day which is especially valuable to those who reside in our dementia care communities.

Leisure time

A good use of leisure time is crucial to a sense of wellbeing. Therefore, we work hard to provide a wide range of activities tailored to ensure residents continue to enjoy their hobbies and interests within the care centre. We have good links in the local community and also support charities through fundraising events. This care centre, like all Prestige facilities, works alongside Oomph https://oomph-wellness.org/ the meaningful activities charity to ensure all activities and occupations are personalised and the care centre has also added the Oomph out and about service (dedicated and themed mini-bus supported outings).

At the Auguste Community we also offer a Tovertafel experience, a mobile snoozelen and a Sentes bath which provides spa and massage options as well as having a built in light and sound system.

*While each bedroom is tastefully decorated and furnished, each resident is encouraged, should they wish, to bring in their own furnishings and personal belongings to make their room their own.

*Each bedroom has en-suite facilities and is fitted with a call bell system for use by residents should they require assistance.
