Set in a conservation area in Redcar, on the site of the former Stead Memorial Hospital, Sand Banks Care Centre is a modern, purpose-built home offering residential care, nursing care and specialist dementia support.
With generous personal and communal spaces, large secure gardens and comfortable en-suite accommodation, Sand Banks provides a calm and welcoming environment where residents can feel safe, supported and truly at home.
Across three dedicated floors, our team provides personalised care tailored to each resident’s needs, helping to promote comfort, dignity and wellbeing every day.
Life at Sand Banks Care Centre is built around comfort, reassurance and a strong sense of community.
The home offers 77 en-suite bedrooms, each tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. Residents are encouraged to bring personal belongings, photographs or favourite pieces of furniture to help make their room feel familiar and their own.
All ground floor accommodation is south-facing, with direct access to the home’s large, secure gardens and grounds. These outdoor spaces give residents the opportunity to enjoy fresh air, peaceful surroundings and time outside with family, friends or other residents.
Our experienced care team receives regular training and works closely with residents and their families to create personalised care plans. Support is tailored around each person’s needs, routines and preferences, including specialist care for people living with dementia or related conditions.
Mealtimes are an important part of daily life at Sand Banks. Our dedicated catering team prepares homemade, nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day, using fresh produce and local suppliers wherever possible. Food and drink are available 24 hours a day, offering flexibility and reassurance for residents, especially those living within our dementia care communities.
Residents are also supported to enjoy a varied programme of activities shaped around their hobbies, interests and abilities. Sand Banks has strong links with the local community and works alongside Oomph to provide meaningful activities and opportunities that help residents stay active, engaged and connected.
